Definition of Ageing Fields
More than 40 per cent of the world’s offshore platforms are beyond their original service life and with the oil companies’ focus on producing “cheaper” oil and gas from existing assets due to the current pressure on the oil and gas prices, there is a strong demand for requalifying or extending the service life of existing ageing offshore structures including offshore platforms.
NauticAWT has been involved in more than 80 offshore services life extension and requalification campaigns and offers an integrated portfolio of solutions of services ranging from subsea inspection, in-place structural analysis, code compliance checks, finite element modelling and engineering design, procurement, fabrication and installation of subsea repair and strengthening measures including UHPC infill of joint and members, UHPC grouted clamps. Furthermore, we work closely with the classification society for certification of the executed strengthening and repair measures as well as the certification of the overall design life extension of offshore platforms. Bureau Veritas, DNV GL and ABS have all certified requalification projects executed by us.
The services are offered as either stand-alone technical solutions or as an integrated package including all the disciplines required for a cost efficient service life extension of an aged offshore platform.
